Nam Kwong Petroleum successfully piloted the sealing on nonstop high-pressured natural gas pipeline in Macau

After 16 consecutive days of hard work, Nam Kwong Petroleum successfully piloted the sealing on nonstop high-pressured natural gas pipeline in Macau in early September, overcoming the biggest difficulty in the relocation of high-pressured natural gas pipeline in the Rotunda Marginal.

To ensure that the supply of Macau City Gas and the operation of Macau Power Station will not be affected, the technology for sealing on nonstop high-pressured natural gas pipeline was used for the first time in Macau. Such sealing is an unconventional operation and has high requirements for construction organization and coordination, process control and emergency response capabilities. To ensure the success of the operation, Nam Kwong Petroleum convened two expert review meetings to demonstrate and determine the relevant technical schemes and working procedures, refined and formulated more than 60 construction control procedures, and carried out sealing simulation tests and emergency drills in advance to repeatedly verify the effectiveness and reliability of workforce, tools, equipment and schemes.

All project team members took their own responsibilities during the construction process. After a series of processes such as welding and holing, nitrogen replacement, gas venting and boosting, process switching, sealing, cold cutting, pipeline connection and non-destructive testing, the sealing operation on nonstop high-pressured natural gas pipeline was successfully completed two days ahead of schedule.

The high-pressured natural gas pipeline relocation project undertaken by Nam Kwong Petroleum this time is one of the important pre-projects for the Macau Light Rail Hengqin Extension Project, a key infrastructure project for the interconnection between Hengqin and Macau undertaken by Nam Kwong Group. The completion of the sealing operation ahead of schedule not only ensured the smooth progress of the Macau Light Rail Hengqin Extension Line project, but also provided valuable project management experience for Nam Kwong Petroleum to undertake similar projects in Macau in the future.
